June 27, 2025 In an official ceremony, the Head of Government, Clara Brugada, swore in the new Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism in Small of Mexico City (CANACOPE), led by Dr. Ada Irma Cruz Davalillo, who returns to the presidency of the organization. During the event, Brugada recognized the fundamental role of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) as the largest economic force in the capital.
The Head of Government highlighted that, according to the 2019 Economic Census, 95% of the city's establishments are MSMEs. Furthermore, she reported that between October 2024 and June 2025, more than 12,600 new commercial establishments were opened, generating at least 130,000 jobs. Brugada also announced the intention to double the amount of the voucher program to 2 billion pesos to strengthen local commerce by 2026 and called on CANACOPE to sign an agreement to register the businesses that wish to participate.
